We look forward to welcoming you

We are excited to meet you! Christ the King Lutheran Church is a family of forgiven believers who welcome you to be our guest, join our congregational family, find a place to serve our community, and grow with us in our love of God and our neighbors both near and far. For more information please call us at 901 682 8404. We hope to meet you very soon! - Pastor Chuck Neugebauer

Want the inside scoop into Christ the King’s ministries, how to volunteer, whom to contact? Would you like to know more about CTK’s history, its future, and how to be “in the know?” Twice a year, we offer the “Connect Class,” a three-week class for new and prospective members covering worship, service, and fellowship opportunities! Let us know you are interested and we will contact you for the next class. Email: churchoffice@ctkmemphis.com

FAQs

  • We are located on the north side of Park Avenue in East Memphis between White Station and Estate (Map below). There are entrances on both the east and west side of our property and you are welcome to park in either parking lot. Handicap parking and entrances are available in both parking lots.

  • Well, anywhere you want to go! We are a friendly open church family who love to have guests and visitors come explore and make themselves at home. Sneak in and look around, check out our bulletin boards and brochures, have a cup of coffee before or after services…ask questions if you please… We’re glad you are here!

Ushers are available to guide you to the sanctuary and provide you with you a Worship Bulletin. (We have large print bulletins available as well as hearing assistance devices - ask the usher!) The Pastors greet the congregation at the close of the service.

  • We offer 4:00pm service on Saturday afternoons and services at 8:30am and 11:00am on Sunday mornings. All services are identical.

  • We celebrate the great Christian tradition of “liturgical worship,” a distinct rhythm between God and His people. God comes to us in His Word and Sacrament, and we in turn give our praise and thanksgiving to Him through prayer and song. We print the entire order of worship in the bulletin, which is available in print or on our website and App.

  • The Pastors would love to talk with you more about becoming a member of the Christ the King family of believers. Please contact the church office at churchoffice@ctkmemphis.com or call us at 901 682 8404.

We offer a twice-yearly “Connect Class” that will tell you (almost) everything you want to know about worship, service, and fellowship events at CTK, and how to get connected through volunteering. The Pastors also offer Adult Information Classes several times during the year which lead the participants through the basics of Lutheran doctrine.

  • Each Sunday morning at 9:45am, CTK offers various opportunities for all ages to attend Sunday School (4-years old to 6th grade), Youth Confirmation (7th - 8th), and High School. We also have Sunday morning adult classes beginning at 9:50am. Check the bulletin for the most current classes and locations.

  • We love having children worship with their families. We believe even young children can begin to grasp an understanding of the rhythm of worship and that they learn more quickly to participate when they are welcomed into the sanctuary. We know, however, that sitting through church is sometimes difficult and we have a cry room available when needed, as well as a staffed nursery for children ages four and under.

The Pastor sets aside a special time during the service for a Children’s Message which brings the Word of God to them in a relatable, age-appropriate way. Children’s bulletins are also available.

  • In the Lord’s Supper we receive Christ’s Body and Blood, in, with, and under bread and wine, for the forgiveness of sins, life and salvation. Those communing are giving public witness that they are one in doctrine. In loving obedience to this Scriptural teaching, we therefore invite communicant members of all congregations in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod to commune with us.

  • We believe God is more interested in your heart than what kind of clothes you wear. You will see some people dressed up and some in jeans or more casual attire. We are glad you have chosen to worship at Christ the King.

Connection

As Jesus first loved us, He taught us to love others. We create and nurture caring relationships in which each person, adult and child, is valued and loved.

Discipleship

We seek Christian growth through Word and Sacrament in order to live in ways that are consistent with the teachings of Jesus Christ, which includes helping others be more like him through discipleship.

Serving

Uniquely gifted by God, each of can use those gifts to serve the Lord by ministering to the needs of others within our church, school, community, and the world. See our Ministry Handbook for details.
