What We Believe
We are Christians
- Christ the King Lutheran Church is a forgiven family of believers who stand united with all who trust in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, as our Redeemer and Savior from sin and death through His atoning sacrifice for the whole world on the cross. With great joy we believe that Jesus rose from the dead for our justification and has promised that all who trust in Him will also rise to live eternally with Him in His Kingdom. We gladly and willingly follow Him and are His disciples in this world that God loves.
We are Lutheran
- Christ the King is specifically Lutheran. The Lutheran Church was formed in the sixteenth century. Our church takes its name from Martin Luther, who believed that church laws and traditions were obscuring the Gospel of salvation by Christ alone. With Luther we emphasize the Gospel of Jesus Christ who saves us by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, as that great truth of our salvation is revealed in Scripture alone.
We are Missouri Synod Lutherans
- Christ the King Lutheran Church is a member of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS) which is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri. The word Synod simply means “walking together,” and we faithfully do so with other LCMS congregations who are conservative in respect to interpreting God’s Word, and liberal in respect to proclaiming the good news of His undeserved grace through faith in Jesus Christ to everyone everywhere. Detailed statements of faith and practice, including topical essays and frequently asked questions, can be found on the Synod’s website.
